The New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department announced that by the end of this month, it will have paid out nearly $100M for about 100 film and TV shows produced over the past several years. The department also said another $95M will be made available to be paid out during the upcoming fiscal year. (See Albuquerque Business Journal)

This year’s Texas Legislature put $50M into the Texas Moving Image Industry Incentive Program for the next biennium, up from $32M allocated two years ago. (See Austin Business Journal)

Colombia is expanding its location shoot incentives to include international television series. Currently foreign production companies of feature films and TV movies can receive a 40% cash rebate on local qualified film spend and a 20% cash rebate on logistical expenses such as hotels, catering, and transportation. Fiji will increase its film tax rebate from 47% to 75% and will be based on the expenditure incurred in Fiji and paid to Fiji resident companies for goods and services. The maximum rebate payable per approved final certificate will not be more than F$15M (approx. US$6.9M). A 200% tax deduction will be available to companies investing in camera and other filming equipment for audio visual production. (See Indian News Link)
